R&R

August 29, 2010 by A Husky Life 1 Comment

Rocco’s health has been improving steadily for the past week. He’s been taking it easy, partaking in numerous naps and casual strolls at nearby parks. He still has some more healing left to do, but I’m sure a few more months of rest and relaxation and he’ll be just as new…in time for the sledding season 🙂

Enjoying his couch privileges.

Yeah, while he rests and relaxes, we break into a sweat every time an insect gets near him.

A week after his ordeal, his body is still loaded with histamines which makes him break-out with allergies from almost anything. Benadryl (25mg tablets), under doctor instructions, calm down the effects, but also make him very sleepy.

Rocco’s internal organs are getting better, but it may take up to six months for them to recover from the ordeal. His most current blood test is promising.

I can’t imagine the outcome had we not been able to get him to the vet as quickly as we did (Thank you mamush!).
