Crossing the River

July 11, 2011 by A Husky Life Leave a Comment

Yesterday Rocco attempted to swim across the Fraser…River. We were out at MacDonald beach, and he  decided to swim out  towards a log…and past the log…and toward the Vancouver bank…We later calculated he swam 85m before deciding to come back, a total of approximately 233m considering he wasn’t swimming in a straight line (Google Earth is amazing!). I have never seen any dog swim out so far, and definitely not a Husky. I’m not sure I want to take him swimming anymore…

Checking out the log
Oh, hey! What are you guys up to over there?
At this point a crowd has gathered to see the crazy dog
The camera zoom could not keep up…
He finally decided to turn around and swim towards us…
Sigh of relief…

Once he got out of the water the small crowd gathered on the Vancouver bank gave out a cheer…I knew it is unusual for a Husky to swim, but Rocco can take on any water dog anytime.
