Dog Friendly Hiking: Whyte Lake

July 30, 2013 by A Husky Life 11 Comments

We haven’t seen rain in Vancouver for a few weeks now and the air quality fell victim to this sunny streak. In search of a cool breeze, we headed over to the North Shore and decided to spend the day in the forest. Whyte Lake trail takes you through an old growth rain forest before reaching a small lake. It is a popular, family friendly trail, so be prepared that the small parking lot may be full.

So very nice. I want to take our dogs for hikes this month – I’m hoping to find trails that are quiet and easy for their first time. Thanks for the inspiration.

I love old growth forests. We don’t have any here in So. California, it is not as luscious and less waterfall. I spent some time up near Mt Baker, north of Seattle and then further south near Mt. Rainier. Such a wonderful area!! Your pics are terrific!!
