Training Thursday: Rainy Day Fun

September 27, 2012 by A Husky Life 2 Comments

The West Coast Winters are a dismal time of the year – it’s wet, gloomy and dark. We still go out on long walks in the forest, short swims in the river or into the mountains to play in the snow. But sometimes it’s just pouring rain and neither Rocco or I feel like going out.

Those days I keep him busy with a clicker and we practice dog tricks. I’m not overly creative coming up with new tricks, so I rely on YouTube videos for inspiration. I really like this video, because it shows a variety of tricks that can easily be modified to make them more or less challenging. Rocco has all of them figured out, except for the “dead dog”, which we’re still working on.
